Reptile & Amphibian Merit Badge  5-4-2002

GNFC arranged to have the Reptile and Amphibian merit badge class at the Buffalo Zoo on May 4, 2002.  Again, as with other classes put on by the GNFC, the response was overwhelming.  Five scouts of Troop 1776 were joined with 45 other scouts from troops all over Western New York to learn about reptiles and amphibians.

They got to see and touch snakes, turtles, lizards and frogs.  They also got a close up look at a snake skin that was over 30 feet long from a snake that weighed over 300 pounds.  Good thing it was only the skin and not a live snake!

At the end of the day, there was still time to do a quick tour of the zoo to see the other animals including the new Kodiak Bear.
