On the weekend of April 26-28 the GNFC hosted a workshop for Outdoor Leader training. Mike Thomas and Darryl Szarpa participated as representatives of Troop 1776.

As members of the Porcupine Patrol they took part in a variety of activities ranging from knot tying, orienteering, cooking, fire starters, edible wild foods, first aid, skits and songs. Besides the formal training sessions there was plenty of time to converse with the other attendees and exchange ideas and tips from their experiences. 

P.S. We also had plenty of rain this weekend! Get used to it - we don't know how to pick nice days for outings - but it does build character.
